Rena Tian Dimes
About Me
Rena Dimes was born in Wuhan, China and raised in Northwood, New Hampshire. She holds a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) in Linguistics with a concentration in Dance History from Reed College and an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Design and Media Studies for Graphic Design from the Community College of Vermont (CCV). Additionally, she has completed self-directed coursework in graphic design via the California Institute of the Arts.
Rena’s creative background comes from a long history in the performing arts as a dancer and circus artist. Her introduction to graphic design was through typography and letterforms, which continue to fascinate her and motivate her work. With a bold, fluid, and expressive aesthetic, Rena’s intent is to create highly bespoke yet functional designs for her clients. Her primary interests are in brand identity, logo design, poster and book jacket design. Rena draws inspiration from surrealist art, record sleeves, ink illustration, vintage signage, and organic patterns and textures.
Rena lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, and is available for freelance projects.
